Enterprise Research Campus Update #123 (Week of April 20, 2026)

The Enterprise Research Campus (ERC) project Phase A is mostly complete with some finish, roadway, hardscaping and landscaping work continuing. 

  • No work will take place on Patriots Day, Monday, April 20.

Western Avenue

  • Milling of Western Avenue pavement will take place on Friday, April 24 and Saturday, April 25 from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Two-way traffic will be maintained with police direction while crews work on one lane at a time. Access will be available with some interruptions to roadway and lot entrances along the way from National Resilience to just west of Hague Street.  Drivers, cyclists and pedestrians should use caution during and after this activity. The roadway surface will be rough with raised castings for a week after the milling work.
  • Paving and temporary striping on the same section of Western Ave is planned on Friday and Saturday, May 1 and 2 from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. weather permitting.
  • Curbing and concrete prep work is underway from Milestone Street to the former entrance to National Resilience. A jersey-barriered temporary bike path/walkway is in place. Going forward the access to National Resilience will be off Milestone Street.
  • Curbing and concrete prep work will take place on either side of the Kresge Way entrance and on both the north and south side of Western Avenue at the crosswalk near Trotting Avenue, pedestrian shifts around the work zone will be in place.
  • Other miscellaneous preparation work for milling and paving may take place.

Streetscape

  • Miscellaneous light pole work is taking place on the ERC roadways. Crews will begin later this month working on replacing porous pavement at Milestone Street and Trotting Avenue.

Greenway (now Allston Way)

  • Water feature and other paver work is underway.
  • Miscellaneous landscape work continues including sod installation.
