Open Space

Phase A of the ERC will be centered around a dynamic and programmable Greenway.

Over time, the Greenway will connect the neighborhood’s Honan-Allston Library and Rena Park toward the Charles River, and will provide an activated, publicly-accessible open space to both the local Allston community and the greater Boston area.

The Greenway will draw a wide range of visitors of all ages and abilities. We are excited about our numerous amenities such as a Bio-Classroom that supports biodiversity in an exuberant urban habitat, interactive water feature, and our ability to activate the Greenway with robust programming like farmer’s markets, concerts, and outdoor fitness classes. The Greenway will also incorporate a multi-modal bike and pedestrian pathway that provides greater connectivity throughout the ERC and the community.
