Enterprise Research Campus Update #121 (Weeks of December 22, December 29, 2025 & January 5, 2026)

As the Enterprise Research Campus (ERC) project continues, we will provide project notifications that outline upcoming and impactful activities, including a map of the area for reference.

Streetscape & Western Ave

Weekend Activities

  • On Saturday, December 20, asphalt will be removed and clean up will be underway.
  • No work will take place on Sunday.

Weekday/night Activities

  • Temporary sidewalk ramp installation on the Harvard Business School side of Western Avenue will finish up.
  • Due to cold weather conditions, the resurfacing of Western Avenue will take place during warmer weather, most likely in the spring.
  • Paver and asphalt install will take place.
  • Site furnishes will be installed.
  • General clean-up and fence removal will take place.

Building Mock-Ups

  • Removal of the building mockups on the corner of Hague and Rotterdam Streets is finishing up. Site clean up and grading will be underway.

Residential Hotel

Weekend Activities

  • On Saturday, December 20, and Saturday, December 27, and Saturday January 3 painting and punch list in the hotel will be underway.
  • On Sundays, December 21, December 28, and January 4, no work will take place.

Weekday/Night Activities

  • Move-ins continue at the midrise and highrise residential buildings (Verra).
  • Generators and heaters will be used while crews waterproof underground tanks for recaptured water.
  • The hotel has its temporary certificate of occupancy.
  • Punch list work continues in the midrise, highrise, hotel and podium.
  • Some elevator work continues in the hotel and garage.
  • Garage clean-up and finish work is underway.
  • Furniture and other operator supplies continue to be delivered to the hotel.

Laboratory and Office Buildings

Weekend Activities

  • On Saturday, December 20, and Saturday, December 27, and Saturday January 3, elevator, interior lobby and miscellaneous general clean-up and punch list work will be underway.
  • On Sundays, December 21 and December 28, four electrician programmers and ten elevator installers may be working. No work is planned for Sunday, January 4.

Weekday Activities

  • Preparation and clean-up for testing and inspections are finishing up in prep for occupancy permits.
  • Elevators are being adjusted and inspected.
  • Garage finish work continues.
  • Fit-out work will take place.
  • Punch-list work is underway on the building’s interior and exterior as well as on the land/hardscaping areas.

Treehouse Conference Center

Weekend Activities in Coordination with Treehouse Operations

  • On Saturday, December 20, and Saturday, December 27, and Saturday January 3, miscellaneous general clean-up and punch list work will be underway. A two-day window replacement operation is being planned using a mobile crane off Western Avenue.
  • Currently no Sunday construction work will take place.

Weekday Activities in Coordination with Treehouse Operation

  • Interior and operational punch list activity will continue.
  • Exterior punch list activity will be underway.
  • Finish work will take place at the loading dock.
  • Permanent doors will replace temporary door.
  • Retail fit-out work will be underway.
  • Terrace activity may continue.

Greenway

Weekend Activities

  • On Saturday, December 21, Saturday, December 27, and Saturday, January 3, masons will be working.
  • No work will take place on Sundays.

Weekday Activities

  • Three heated tents will be used for work activities.
  • Pavers and detail work will be underway near the water features, at the shared use path and other areas.
  • Bioswale boardwalk detail work continues.
  • Hardscape furnishings are being installed.
  • Punchlist work continues.

General

  • The projects work hours are Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. and Saturdays/Sundays/off hours as permitted by the City of Boston from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Crews will coordinate work in accordance with building operations for those buildings that have opened.
  • No work will take place on the Christmas and New Year’s holidays.
  • Drones will be in use bi-weekly to monitor construction progress on site.
    • Drones will be operated by licensed pilots in accordance with Harvard University and the City of Boston regulations.
    • Weekly flights are weather dependent and are scheduled one weekday morning.
    • A drone flight is planned on Thursday, January 8.
