As the Enterprise Research Campus (ERC) project continues, we will provide project notifications that outline upcoming and impactful activities, including a map of the area for reference.
Streetscape & Western Ave
Weekend Activities
- No work will take place this weekend.
Weekday/night Activities
- Sidewalk ramp installation, manhole/drain work and electrical conduit install across and on the Harvard Business School side of Western Avenue will continue. The roadway will be narrowed and two-way traffic maintained with police, cones and signage to direct traffic. The work will begin at 9:30 a.m. and the trenches will be backfilled and/or plated at the end of each shift.
- Conduit work for light poles will take place at the entrance of Kresge Way. One half of the roadway will be closed at a time, always maintaining access to the Soldiers Field Garage and Harvard Business School. Police details will be directing traffic, cyclists and pedestrians around the traffic.
- Due to cold weather conditions, the resurfacing of Western Avenue will take place during warmer weather, most likely in the spring.
- The fence between Hague Street and Trotting Avenue will be moved off the street at the end of the week.
- Paver and asphalt install will take place.
- Site furnishes will be installed.
- General clean-up and fence removal will take place.
Building Mock-Ups
- Removal of the building mockups on the corner of Hague and Rotterdam Streets is finishing up. underway. Site clean up and grading will be underway. A lane on Rotterdam Street will be used intermittently. Mock-up materials will be disposed of inside the site with equipment using the Hague Street gate.
Residential Hotel
Weekend Activities
- On Saturday, December 13, crews will be splitting up the triple-wide trailer off Trotting Avenue and painting in the hotel will be underway.
- On Sunday, December 14, no work will take place.
Weekday/Night Activities
- The triple-wide trailer sections at Trotting Avenue will be removed from site exiting via Milestone Street.
- Move-ins continue at the midrise and highrise residential buildings (Verra).
- Generators and heaters will be used while crews waterproof underground tanks for recaptured water.
- The hotel has its temporary certificate of occupancy.
- Punch list work continues in the midrise, highrise, hotel and podium.
- Some elevator work continues in the hotel and garage.
- Garage clean-up and finish work is underway.
- Furniture and other operator supplies continue to be delivered to the hotel.
Laboratory and Office Buildings
Weekend Activities
- On Saturday, December 13, penthouse mechanical, elevator, interior lobby and miscellaneous general clean-up work will be underway.
- On Sunday, December 14, four electrician programmers and ten elevator installers will be working.
Weekday Activities
- Preparation and clean-up for testing and inspections will be ongoing. Boston Fire Department tests including fire-alarm testing may be scheduled off hours and may generate some noise.
- Elevators are being adjusted and inspected.
- MEP detail and start up activities are ongoing.
- Mechanical penthouse detail and start up activities continue.
- Lobby and other fit out detail work continues.
- Garage finish work continues.
- Punch-list work is underway on the building’s interior and exterior as well as on the land/hardscaping areas.
Treehouse Conference Center

- No weekend construction work will take place.
Weekday Activities in Coordination with Treehouse Operations
- Interior and operational punch list activity will continue.
- Operational deliveries and work will take place.
- Exterior punch list activity will begin on Wednesday, December 17.
Greenway
Weekend Activities
- On Saturday, December 13, possible landscaping and deck work may take place.
- On Sunday, December 14, no work will take place.
Weekday Activities
- Pavers will continue to be placed near the water features, at the shared use path and other areas.
- Bioswale boardwalk detail work is underway.
- Hardscape furnishings are being installed.
- Punchlist work continues.
General
- The projects work hours are Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. and Saturdays/Sundays/off hours as permitted by the City of Boston from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Crews will coordinate work in accordance with building operations for those buildings that have opened.
- Drones will be in use bi-weekly to monitor construction progress on site.
- Drones will be operated by licensed pilots in accordance with Harvard University and the City of Boston regulations.
- Weekly flights are weather dependent and are scheduled one weekday morning.
- A drone flight is planned on Thursday, December 18.
