As the Enterprise Research Campus (ERC) project continues, we will provide project notifications that outline upcoming and impactful activities, including a map of the area for reference.
Residential/Hotel
Weekend Activities
- On Saturday, September 6, paver install will take place. First floor work will be underway in the hotel. Elevator and miscellaneous interior work including flooring are ongoing inside the hotel with punch-list/fit out work in the high-rise building.
- On Sunday, September 7, the hotel will have six workers in the elevators.
Weekday/Night Activities
- Trotting Avenue is open to the public as the midrise and high-rise residential buildings (Verra) continue to be occupied.
- Paver activities continue.
- Punch list work is finishing in the midrise and continuing in the high-rise.
- Fit out work continues on level 8 in the high-rise.
- Testing and inspections will be ongoing in preparation for a temporary certificate of occupancy in late September in the hotel. Some after-hours interior work will take place. Other hotel activities include:
- Ground floor work including soffit panel installation using lifts
- Elevator installation and start up activity
- MEP work
- Framing, drywall and bathroom installation
- Flooring and painting
- Finish, tile and millwork
- Punchlist work
Laboratory and Office Buildings
Weekend Activities
- On Saturday, September 6, roofing activity, level 1 work on boom lifts, and west side landscaping/site work as well as interior drywall, penthouse mechanical, elevator and miscellaneous work will be underway.
- On Sunday, September 7, no work will take place.
Weekday Activities
- Level 1 soffit and exterior work is underway.
- Smaller concrete operations continue.
- Roof and terrace activities including paver and planting install are underway.
- Elevators are being installed and inspected.
- MEP work is ongoing.
- Mechanical penthouse detail activities continue.
- Stone masonry work continues.
- Structural soil backfill at Trotting Avenue will take place.
- Granite curb and irrigation work will continue.
- Framing, drywall and bathroom install are underway.
- Millwork, flooring and painting are ongoing.
- Garage work continues.
- Permanent power energizing is expected.
Treehouse Conference Center
Weekend Activities
- On Saturday, September 6 multiple activities will be underway including wood panel and façade installation and some roof activities will occur. Crews will be installing pavers. Interior work includes flooring, ceilings, elevator and miscellaneous work including MEP activity.
- On Sunday, September 7, approximately twenty workers including three roofers, twelve façade installers and others doing interior electrical, carpentry and miscellaneous activities.
Weekday/Night Activities
- A site crew will be excavating to finish pavers.
- Wood trim panels and other façade installation continue two shifts from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.
- Electricians and elevator workers are also working two shifts inside the building.
- Roof detail activities continue.
- Elevator work is underway.
- MEP activities are ongoing
- Building systems start-up, testing and inspections in preparation for temporary certificate of occupancy in late September are underway.
- Flooring and ceiling work continues.
- Bathroom and kitchen work continues.
- Painting is underway.
- Finish, tile and mill work are ongoing.
- Small concrete placements will take place.
- AV and security work are underway.
Greenway
Weekend Activities
- On Saturday, September 6, a vacuum truck will be used to prep for abutment walls. Crews will also work on extending mainline irrigation from the Treehouse.
Weekday Activities
- Landscaping crews install pavers and metal edging at the shared-use path.
- Water feature concrete will be placed.
- Outcropping (boulder) detail install continues.
- Excavating and footing work for bio-swales is underway.
Streetscape and Western Ave
Weekend Activities
- On Saturday, September 6, structural soils install and materials placing at the hotel concrete slab area will take place.
Weekday/night Activities
- Crews may work an extended shift into the night finishing structural soils from 1:45 p.m. to 11:45 p.m. early next week.
- Non-porous paving and bike lane install on Trotting Avenue, north of the loading dock.
- Structural soils and electrical conduit install, irrigation, curbing and sidewalk work will take place inside the fence along Western Avenue.
Building Mock-Ups
- Building mockups are on the corner of Hague and Rotterdam Streets.
Eversource Conduit Project
- Eversource electrical manhole work and splicing continues along Western Avenue and at Trotting Avenue. This public utility work is not under the supervision of ERC.
General
- The projects work hours are Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. and Saturdays/Sundays/off hours as permitted by the City of Boston from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Drones will be in use bi-weekly to monitor construction progress on site.
- Drones will be operated by licensed pilots in accordance with Harvard University and the City of Boston regulations.
- Weekly flights are weather dependent and are scheduled one weekday morning.
- A drone is scheduled to fly on Thursday, September 11, at 3 p.m.
