Enterprise Research Campus Update #103 (Week of August 11, 2025)

As the Enterprise Research Campus (ERC) project continues, we will provide project notifications that outline upcoming and impactful activities, including a map of the area for reference.

Residential/Hotel

Weekend Activities

  • On Saturday, August 9, many activities will be taking place including paver install near the high-rise residential building with several boom lifts operating and workers on staging for panel installation. First floor work will take place in the buildings, especially focused on lobby work in the highrise. Elevator and miscellaneous interior work are ongoing in hotel and high-rise buildings.
  • On Sunday, August 10, at the high rise building 12 workers will be installing panels in the former hoist area and another 25 workers will be installing pavers, planters and more. Inside the high rise, a crew of two will be working in elevator shafts.

Weekday/Night Activities

  • Trotting Avenue is open to the public as the midrise residential building begins to be occupied.
  • Various testing and inspections will be ongoing in preparation for a temporary certificate of occupancy and residential occupancy next week in the high-rise residential building. Periodic alarms will be heard.
  • Crews are scheduled to work in the evenings at the high-rise, exterior façade from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. on swing staging the former hoist infill area with portable light towers pointed at the building.
  • Paver activities may occur after hours.
  • Exterior wall sheathing, panel clips and green exterior panels are being installed on the high-rise building.
  • Punch list work is finishing in the midrise and highrise.
  • Ground floor work is underway on the hotel, including soffit panel installation using lifts at the hotel.
  • Elevator installation and start up activity continues.
  • Smaller concrete operations continue.
  • MEP work is ongoing.
  • Framing, drywall and bathroom installation are taking place inside the hotel.
  • Flooring and painting are underway.

Laboratory and Office Buildings

Weekend Activities

  • On Saturday, August 9, roofing activity, level 1exterior and south side site work will be underway. Interior drywall, elevator work and MEP work in the penthouse as well as miscellaneous clean-up activities will occur.
  • On Sunday, August 10, no work will be taking place on site.

Weekday Activities

  • Boom lifts are active around the perimeter of the buildings.
  • Level 1 soffit and exterior work is underway.
  • Smaller concrete operations continue.
  • Roof and terrace activities are underway.
  • Elevators are being installed and inspected.
  • MEP work is ongoing.
  • Mechanical penthouse activities continue.
  • Masonry work continues.
  • At Axle Way, concrete sidewalk will be placed.
  • Excavation for a bio-cell structure at Trotting Avenue will take place.
  • Irrigation and paver install are underway.
  • Framing, drywall and bathroom install are underway.
  • Finish, tile and millwork are ongoing.
  • Some drive lane striping and traffic coating will take place.
  • Garage work continues.
  • Bike storage is being installed.

Treehouse Conference Center

Weekend Activities

  • On Saturday, August 9, roof activities, wood panel and façade installation will take place. Interior work includes flooring, ceilings, elevator and miscellaneous work including MEP activity.
  • On Sunday, August 10, approximately 35 workers will be prepping for pavers, doing façade, roof and elevator work.

Weekday/Night Activities

  • A site crew will be excavating to place stone, install trench drains, shallow utilities and prepping for pavers from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.
  • Wood trim panels and other façade installation continue six days a week.
  • Roof activities continue.
  • Elevator work is underway.
  • MEP activities are ongoing.
  • Flooring and ceiling work continues.
  • Bathroom work continues.
  • Painting is underway.
  • Finish, tile and mill work are ongoing.
  • Small concrete placements will take place.

Greenway

Weekend Activities

  • On Saturday, August 9, preparation for footings and paver install will take place.

Weekday Activities

  • Landscaping crews continue working on the shared-use path.
  • Water feature install work is underway.
  • Outcropping (boulder)install continues.
  • Excavating and prep for footings for bio-swales.
  • Placing smaller footings will take place in the grove area.

Streetscape and Western Ave

Weekend Activities

  • On Saturday, August 9, structural soil work on Trotting Avenue and placing stone on Milestone Street will be underway.

Weekday Activities

  • Concrete prep and placement for sidewalks on Trotting Avenue, north of the loading dock. Curbing, paver install near the buildings.
  • Irrigation work and sidewalk work will take place along Milestone St.
  • Temporary lighting and trenching work have begun inside the fence along Western Avenue.

Building Mock-Ups

  • Building mockups are on the corner of Hague and Rotterdam Streets.

Eversource Conduit Project

  • Eversource electrical manhole work and splicing continues along Western Avenue and at Trotting Avenue. This public utility work is not under the supervision of ERC.

General

  • The projects work hours are Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. and Saturdays/Sundays/off hours as permitted by the City of Boston from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Drones will be in use bi-weekly to monitor construction progress on site.
    • Drones will be operated by licensed pilots in accordance with Harvard University and the City of Boston regulations.
    • Weekly flights are weather dependent and are scheduled one weekday morning.
    • A drone is scheduled to fly on Thursday, August 14, at 3 p.m.
