Enterprise Research Campus Update #101 (Week of July 28, 2025)

As the Enterprise Research Campus (ERC) project continues, we will provide project notifications that outline upcoming and impactful activities, including a map of the area for reference.

Residential/Hotel

Weekend Activities

  • On Saturday, July 26, many activities will be taking place including paver install near the high-rise residential building with several boom lifts operating and workers on staging for panel installation. First floor work will take place in the buildings. Elevator and miscellaneous interior work are ongoing in hotel and high-rise buildings.
  • On Sunday, July 27, at the high rise building 12 workers will be installing panels in the former hoist area and another 25 workers will be installing pavers, planters and more. Inside the high rise, a crew of four will be working in elevator shafts, another eight to 12 will be onsite to conduct cleaning and punch-list operations.

Weekday/Night Activities

  • Trotting Avenue is open to the public as the midrise residential building begins to be occupied.
  • Various testing and inspections will be ongoing in preparation for a temporary certificate of occupancy in early August in the high-rise residential building. Periodic alarms will be heard.
  • Crews are scheduled to work in the evenings and nighttime at the high-rise, exterior façade from 3 p.m. to 5 a.m. on swing staging the former hoist infill area with portable light towers pointed at the building.
  • Paver activities and interior high-rise work will occur from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m.
  • Exterior wall sheathing, panel clips and green exterior panels are being installed on the high-rise building.
  • Lobby and punch list work is finishing in the midrise.
  • Ground floor work is underway on the highrise, including soffit panel installation using lifts at the hotel.
  • Swing staging is in use on the east side of the high-rise building.
  • Elevator installation and start up activity continues.
  • Smaller concrete operations continue.
  • MEP work is ongoing.
  • Framing, drywall and bathroom installation are taking place inside the hotel and high-rise buildings.
  • Flooring and painting are underway.
  • Punch-list finish activities on many floors inside the highrise.

Laboratory and Office Buildings

Weekend Activities

  • On Saturday, July 26, roofing activity and some first-floor work will be underway. Interior drywall, elevator work and MEP work in the penthouse as well as general clean-up activities will occur.
  • On Sunday, July 27 eight workers will be doing detail roofing activity.

Weekday Activities

  • Tuesday, July 29 a crane is expected to place trees and soils on the north terrace.
  • Boom lifts are active around the perimeter of the buildings.
  • Level 1 soffit and exterior work is underway.
  • Smaller concrete operations continue.
  • Roof and terrace activities are underway.
  • Elevators are being installed and inspected.
  • MEP work is ongoing.
  • Mechanical penthouse activities continue.
  • Stone masonry work continues especially at the former temp loading dock location.
  • Concrete form and placement on the east side of the buildings. At Axle Way, excavation and backfilling structural soil and curbing install will be underway.
  • Framing, drywall and bathroom install are underway.
  • Some drive lane striping and traffic coating will take place.

Treehouse Conference Center

Weekend Activities

  • On Saturday, July 26, roof activities, wood panel and façade installation will take place. Interior work includes flooring, ceilings, elevator and miscellaneous work including MEP activity.
  • On Sunday, July 27, four workers will be detailing on the roof and six workers will be doing façade work.

Weekday/Night Activities

  • A small crew is scheduled to work on the facade from 3 to 11 p.m. using lifts.
  • Wood trim panels and other façade installation continue.
  • Duct bank excavation and install is occurring.
  • Roof activities continue.
  • Paver activities will begin.
  • Granite work continues on exterior ground floor.
  • Elevator work is underway.
  • MEP activities are ongoing.
  • Flooring and ceiling work continues.
  • Small concrete placements will take place.
  • Bathroom work continues.
  • Painting is underway.
  • Finish, tile and mill work are ongoing.

Greenway

Weekend Activities

  • On Saturday, July 26, irrigation work will be underway.

Weekday Activities

  • Landscaping crews continue working on the shared-use path.
  • Stone and backfilling work are underway for water features.
  • Outcropping (boulder)install continues.
  • Excavating for footing for bio-swales.

Streetscape

Weekend Activities

  • On Saturday, July 26 crews will be running conduit and irrigation lines.

Weekday Activities

  • Concrete prep and placement for sidewalks on Trotting Avenue, north of the loading dock. Curbing, paver install near the buildings.  Irrigation work and sidewalk work will take place along Milestone St.

Building Mock-Ups

  • Building mockups are on the corner of Hague and Rotterdam Streets.
  • A pedestrian pathway from the Hague Street lot to the street is installed.

Eversource Conduit Project

  • Eversource electrical cabling will be taking place in the future along Western Avenue. This public utility work is not under the supervision of ERC.

General

  • The projects work hours are Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. and Saturdays/Sundays/off hours as permitted by the City of Boston from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Drones will be in use bi-weekly to monitor construction progress on site.
    • Drones will be operated by licensed pilots in accordance with Harvard University and the City of Boston regulations.
    • Weekly flights are weather dependent and are scheduled one weekday morning.
    • A drone is scheduled to fly on Thursday, July 31, at 3 p.m.
