Enterprise Research Campus Update #96 (Week of June 23, 2025)

As the Enterprise Research Campus (ERC) project continues, we will provide project notifications that outline upcoming and impactful activities, including a map of the area for reference.

Residential/Hotel

Weekend Activities

  • On Saturday, June 21, the site will have several activities underway. Exterior green panel installation and activity will take place on the midrise and high-rise residential buildings with several boom lifts operating including the mid-rise hoist infill area. Paver work will be taking place on the east and south decks.  Elevator and miscellaneous interior work is ongoing in all three buildings.
  • On Sunday, June 22, six workers will be inside the hotel and high-rise building elevator shafts.  Four electricians will be working inside the hotel with another four working in the mid-rise and high-rise building. Another six workers will be working on level 1. Six workers will be outside installing pavers. Twenty workers may be working on the high-rise façade installing green panels.

Weekday/Night Activities

  • Crews are scheduled to work in the evenings at the high-rise, exterior façade from 3 to 11 p.m. on swing staging with portable light towers pointed at the building. Some minor panel finish work may take place at the mid rise.
  • On site loading dock evening activity is from 3 to 11 p.m.
  • Exterior wall sheathing, panel clips and green exterior panels are being installed on the residential buildings.
  • At the high rise, the hoist has been removed and infill work is underway.
  • Ground floor work is underway on all three buildings, including soffit panel installation using lifts at the hotel.
  • Mast climber scaffolding and swing staging are set up on the high-rise building.
  • Elevators are being installed.
  • Other concrete operations continue.
  • Some roofing activities continue.
  • MEP work is ongoing.
  • Framing, drywall and bathroom installation are taking place inside the buildings.
  • Flooring and painting is underway.

Laboratory and Office Buildings

Weekend Activities

  • On Saturday, June 21, exterior work on the first floor and roofing activity, weather permitting, will be underway. Interior drywall, elevator work and MEP work in the penthouse as well as general clean-up activities will occur.
  • No work is planned for Sunday, June 22.

Weekday Activities

  • A crane will be on site starting Monday, June 23 for removal of the hoist, followed by dismantle of the loading dock.
  • Boom lifts are active around the perimeter of the buildings.
  • Level 1 soffit and exterior work is underway.
  • Smaller concrete operations continue.
  • Roof activities are underway.
  • Elevators are being installed and inspected.
  • MEP work is ongoing.
  • Mechanical penthouse activities continue.
  • Masonry work continues.
  • Structural soil backfill, low voltage, concrete pad and granite curb install will take place on the east side of the buildings.
  • Framing, drywall and bathroom install are underway.

Treehouse Conference Center

Weekend Activities

  • Work includes underground piping to the cistern water tank on the west side of the site, air handler connections of the roof, flooring, drywall, elevator and miscellaneous interior work including MEP activity on Saturday, June 21.
  • On Sunday, June 22, four electricians will be connecting air handlers on the roof.

Weekday/Night Activities

  • A small crew is scheduled to work on the facade from 3 to 11 p.m. using lifts.
  • Wood trim panels and other façade installation continue.
  • Duct bank excavation and install is occurring.
  • Framing and drywall continue.
  • Elevator work is underway.
  • MEP activities are ongoing.
  • Flooring work continues.
  • Small concrete placements will take place.
  • Bathroom work continues.
  • Painting will begin.

Evening Thermal Work

  • Underground water pipe backfilling work will continue on weeknights in two areas near the Treehouse and one between the National Resilience Drive and Milestone Street from 4 p.m. until midnight.

Greenway

Weekend Activities

  • On Saturday, June 21 a crew will be prepping for outcrop (boulder) feature.

Weekday Activities

  • Landscaping crews continue prepping for hardscape and tree planting.
  • Trees continue to be planted.
  • Prep and utility work is underway for water features.
  • Outcropping (boulder)install continues.

Streetscape

Weekend Activities

  • On Saturday, June 21, road curbing and paver bases will be underway. All work will be contained within the site.

Weekday/Night Activities

  • Daytime work includes sidewalks, curbing, paver install near the buildings.
  • Evening crews will be prepping for the bike lane, curbing, railings, trash receptacles from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. All work will be contained within the site.

Building Mock-Ups

  • Building mockups are on the corner of Hague and Rotterdam Streets.
  • A pedestrian pathway from the Hague Street lot to the street will be installed before the July 4 holiday.

Eversource Conduit Project

  • Eversource electrical cabling will be taking place in the future along Western Avenue. This public utility work is not under the supervision of ERC.

General

  • The projects work hours are Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. and Saturdays/Sundays/off hours as permitted by the City of Boston from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Drones will be in use bi-weekly to monitor construction progress on site.
    • Drones will be operated by licensed pilots in accordance with Harvard University and the City of Boston regulations.
    • Weekly flights are weather dependent and are scheduled one weekday morning.
    • A drone is scheduled to fly on Thursday, June 26, at 3 p.m.
