As the Enterprise Research Campus (ERC) project continues, we will provide project notifications that outline upcoming and impactful activities, including a map of the area for reference.
Residential/Hotel
Weekend Activities
- On Saturday, May 17, the site will have several activities underway, weather permitting. Exterior green panel installation and activity will take place on the midrise and high-rise residential buildings with several boom lifts operating including at the mid-rise hoist infill area. A crane will be operating to complete hoist removal at the hotel. Window material delivery areas are set up near swing staging on the high rise. Roofing activity may take place. Elevator and miscellaneous interior work in all three buildings.
- On Sunday, May 18, six workers will be inside the hotel and high-rise building elevator shafts and six others including two electricians will be doing miscellaneous work inside the residential buildings. Another six workers will be working on hoist removal at the hotel and a dozen will be installing panels at the midrise storefront and a dozen workers will be doing louver install where the hotel connects to the residential buildings. Exterior work is weather permitting.
Weekday Activities
- Crews are scheduled to work at the midrise off Trotting Avenue, on the first and second floor exterior façade from 2:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. Boom and scissor lifts and light towers pointed at the building will be operational.
- Crews will be working from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday, May 19 and 20 to remove concrete foundation under the hoist tower at the hotel. Hydraulic hammers will be used until 8 p.m. and will generate noise.
- Eversource may be on site finishing permanent power connections.
- Exterior wall sheathing, panel clips and green exterior panels are being installed on the residential buildings.
- At the midrise the hoist has been removed and infill work is underway.
- The high rise and hotel hoists continue to be removed with a crane at each building.
- Ground floor work is underway on all three buildings, including soffit panel installation using lifts at the hotel.
- Mast climber scaffolding and swing staging are set up on the high-rise building.
- Elevators are being installed.
- Other concrete operations continue.
- Roofing activities are underway.
- MEP work is ongoing.
- Framing, drywall and bathroom installation are taking place inside the buildings.
Laboratory and Office Buildings
Weekend Activities
- On Saturday, May 17 exterior curtainwall work, weather permitting, will be underway. Interior drywall, elevator install and MEP work in the penthouse as well as general clean-up activities will occur.
- On Sunday, May 18 a crew of six will be working in the east building elevator shaft.
Weekday Activities
- Boom lifts are active around the perimeter of the buildings.
- Level 1 soffit and exterior work is underway.
- Smaller concrete operations continue.
- Roof activities are underway.
- Elevators are being installed.
- MEP work is ongoing.
- Mechanical penthouse activities continue.
- Masonry work continues.
- Pre-clearing for hardscape/landscape will continue with landscaping to follow.
- Framing, drywall and bathroom install are underway.
Greenway
- Landscaping crews continue prepping for hardscape and tree planting.
- Trees continue to be planted.
- Prep and utility work is underway for water features.
- A concrete crew is doing formwork and will place concrete on a section of the shared-use path.
Treehouse Conference Center
Weekend Activities
- Work includes curtainwall install, roofing activity (weather permitting), interior bridge area opening and dry-wall installation on Saturday, May 17.
- On Sunday, May 18, a crew of 15 is scheduled to work on the roof, weather permitting.
Weekday Activities
- Façade frame and glass installation continues using boom lifts.
- Cranes are assisting with roofing and terrace activities.
- Bridge footings and foundation work are underway on the Western Ave side.
- Framing and drywall continue.
- Elevator work continues.
- MEP activities are ongoing.
- Flooring work continues
- Small concrete placements will take place.
Evening Thermal Testing
- Pressure testing for chilled and hot water from the DEF to the Treehouse is scheduled Wednesday, May 21 and Thursday, May 22 from 4 p.m. until 10 p.m.
Streetscape
- Work and backfilling in the trench will take place on Trotting Avenue near the buildings.
Evening Fiberoptic Manhole Work
- Fiber-optic work will take place at manholes Milestone Street, and Axle Way inside the ERC site on Thursday, May 22 from 5 p.m. to midnight
Building Mock-Ups
- Building mockups are on the corner of Hague and Rotterdam Streets.
Eversource Conduit Project
- Eversource electrical cabling will be taking place in the future along Western Avenue. This public utility work is not under the supervision of ERC.
General
- The projects work hours are Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. and Saturdays/Sundays/off hours as permitted by the City of Boston from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Drones will be in use bi-weekly to monitor construction progress on site.
- Drones will be operated by licensed pilots in accordance with Harvard University and the City of Boston regulations.
- Weekly flights are weather dependent and are scheduled one weekday morning.
- A drone is scheduled to fly on Thursday, May 22 at 3 p.m.
