As the Enterprise Research Campus (ERC) project continues, we will provide project notifications that outline upcoming and impactful activities, including a map of the area for reference.
Residential/Hotel
- Weekend Activities
- On Saturday, May 3, the site will have several activities underway, weather permitting. Exterior green panel installation and activity will take place on the midrise and high-rise residential buildings with several boom lifts operating including the infill hoist area. Elevator and miscellaneous interior work with an operational hoist in the high-rise building will occur.
- On Sunday, May 4, a dozen workers will be working inside the hotel and high-rise building elevator shafts. Another six workers will be installing drywall in the first floor area where the midrise meets the high-rise.
- Weekday Activities
- Crews are scheduled to work at the midrise off Trotting Avenue, on the first and second floor exterior façade from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. Boom and scissor lifts and light towers pointed at the building will be operational.
- Eversource may be on site finishing permanent power connections.
- Exterior wall sheathing, panel clips and green exterior panels are being installed on the residential buildings.
- At the midrise the hoist has been removed and infill work is underway.
- Ground floor work is underway on all three buildings, including soffit panel installation using lifts at the hotel.
- The hotel hoist continues to be removed with a crane on site.
- Mast climber scaffolding and swing staging are set up on the high-rise building.
- Elevators are being installed.
- Other concrete operations continue.
- Roofing activities are underway.
- MEP work is ongoing.
- Framing and bathroom installation are taking place inside the buildings.
- Temporary heaters are being removed.
Laboratory and Office Buildings
- Weekend Activities
- On Saturday, May 3 exterior work will include interior drywall, elevator install and MEP work in the penthouse as well as general clean-up activities.
- On Sunday, May 4 a crew of six will be working in the east building elevator shaft.
- Weekday Activities
- Boom lifts are active around the perimeter of the buildings.
- Level 1 soffit and exterior work is underway.
- Smaller concrete operations continue.
- Roof activities are underway.
- Elevators are being installed.
- MEP work is ongoing.
- Mechanical penthouse activities continue.
- Masonry work continues.
- Framing and bathroom install are underway.
- Spray-on insulation work will take place.
- Temporary heaters are being disconnected.
Greenway
- Landscaping crews continue prepping for hardscape and tree planting.
- Trees continue to be planted.
- Prep work is underway for water features.
Treehouse Conference Center
- Weekend Activities
- Work includes façade, sub-floor, insulation and dry-wall installation as well as roofing activity on Saturday, May 3. A duct bank delivery will take place.
Weekday Activities
- Façade frame and glass installation continues using boom lifts.
- Roofing and terrace activities are underway.
- Framing and drywall continue.
- Elevator work continues.
- MEP activities are ongoing.
- Flooring work continues.
- Small concrete placements will take place.
Streetscape
- Pre-clearing and excavation continues on Trotting near the buildings.
Building Mock-Ups
- Building mockups are on the corner of Hague and Rotterdam Streets.
Nighttime Fiber Optic Manhole Work
- Fiber-optic cables will be pulled between manholes at Western onto Trotting Avenue and Milestone streets, and on Axle Way inside the ERC site at night on Monday and Tuesday, May 5 and 6 and into Wednesday, May 7 from 7 p.m. to 4 a.m.
Eversource Conduit Project
- Eversource electrical cabling will be taking place in the future along Western Avenue. This public utility work is not under the supervision of ERC.
General

- The projects work hours are Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. and Saturdays/off hours as permitted by the City of Boston from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Hoists (exterior construction elevators) are operating on the residential, hotel and lab buildings.
- Drones will be in use bi-weekly to monitor construction progress on site.
- Drones will be operated by licensed pilots in accordance with Harvard University and the City of Boston regulations.
- Weekly flights are weather dependent and are scheduled one weekday morning.
- A drone is scheduled to fly Friday, May 2 at 3 p.m. and on Thursday, May 8 at 3 p.m.
