All project sites will be closed on Wednesday, December 25 and January 1.
As the Enterprise Research Campus (ERC) project continues, we will provide project notifications that outline upcoming and impactful activities, including a map of the area for reference.
Residential/Hotel
- On Saturday, December 21 and 28, boom lifts will be set up on Trotting Avenue with exterior wall and roofing activity underway. Glass installation will be underway on the ground floor of the hotel. Miscellaneous interior work with hoists operational is planned.
- Windows, exterior sheathing, framing and waterproofing are also being installed during the week on the residential buildings.
- Exterior panel and window installation is ongoing at the hotel.
- A suspended scaffolding deck, like under a bridge, is set up on the underside of the cantilever section at the hotel.
- Mast climber scaffolding will be installed on the high-rise building.
- Elevators are being installed.
- Other smaller concrete operations continue.
- Roofing activities are underway.
- MEP work is ongoing.
- Framing is taking place inside the buildings.
- Temporary heaters are being set up.
Laboratory and Office Buildings
- On Saturday, December 21 and 28, miscellaneous mechanical and interior work and general cleanup will be underway.
- State police-escorted oversize trucks will deliver air handlers on Monday, December 23 at 5 a.m. The tower crane will be used to unload the trucks after 7 a.m.
- The site’s tower crane is operational. It is designed to move or “weathervane” in the wind.
- Exterior curtain-wall panels are being installed during the week.
- Smaller concrete operations continue.
- Roof activities are underway.
- MEP work is ongoing.
- Mechanical penthouse activities continue.
- Masonry work continues.
- Temporary heaters are being set up.
Greenway
- Drainage structures and pipe installation are underway.
- Concrete activity for the rainwater storage tank will continue.
- Backfilling continues.
Treehouse Conference Center
- Mass timber activities will take place on Saturday, December 21 and 28. A crane will be in operation.
- Mass timber deliveries, activities and installation of the roof continue with one or two cranes operating during the week.
- MEP activities and miscellaneous utilities are ongoing.
Building Mock-Ups
- Building mockups are on the corner of Hague and Rotterdam Streets.
Eversource Conduit Project
- Eversource duct bank installation by G. Greene Construction is underway along Western Avenue after hours, typically from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. This public utility work is not under the supervision of ERC.
General
- Snow and ice removal and cleanup will take place as needed.
- The projects work hours are Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. and Saturdays/off hours as permitted by the City of Boston from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Saturday work is scheduled to take place starting at 7 a.m.
- Hoists (exterior construction elevators) are operating on the residential, hotel and lab buildings.
- Drones will be in use bi-weekly to monitor construction progress on site.
- Drones will be operated by licensed pilots in accordance with Harvard University and the City of Boston regulations.
- Weekly flights are weather dependent and are scheduled one weekday morning.
