As the Enterprise Research Campus (ERC) project continues, we will provide project notifications that outline upcoming and impactful activities, including a map of the area for reference.
Residential/Hotel
- This Saturday, July 13, starting at 7 a.m., tower cranes will be assisting hotel steel installation. and detailing. Mid-rise and high-rise sheathing will take place. Work is weather dependent.
- Concrete decking and other operations continue.
- Hotel steel installation has topped off at level 17 and continues with work on the periscope, the cantilevered section of the building.
- The mid-rise residential building has topped off at their mechanical penthouse at level 9.
- The hoists (exterior construction elevators) and loading docks are being installed. The mid-rise hoist will be operational after inspections and approvals next week.
- Preparations are underway to remove the tower crane closest to the hotel next weekend, July 20 and 21.
- Work is progressing to level 15 of the high-rise building.
- MEP work is ongoing.
Laboratory and Office Buildings
- Steel detailing will take place, weather dependent, on Saturday, July 13, starting at 7 a.m.
- Concrete operations continue with deck placements and foundation work for the hoist.
- Structural steel continues to be delivered and installed on the east building with decking and detailing on the west building.
- The east building steel is up to level 7, and the west building has topped off finishing structural steel on the second mechanical penthouse above level 7.
- Duct bank installation is underway on the perimeter of the site.
Greenway
- This section of the site is currently being used for laydown space.
Treehouse Conference Center
- A crew will be installing mass timber, and another welding embeds on the cores this Saturday, July 13 starting at 7 a.m. A crane and lifts will be in use.
- Mass timber installation continues next week.
- Core connection work continues.
- Occasional concrete work will take place.
Building Mock-Ups
- Punchlist work and other adjustments are intermittent on all five mockups.
General
- The site’s four tower cranes have been erected and are operational. They are designed to move or “weathervane” in the wind.
- The projects’ work hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. and Saturdays as permitted by the City of Boston from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
- Intermittent use of power trowels for concrete finishing and layout for concrete placement may take place after 6 p.m.
- Drones will be in use bi-weekly to monitor construction progress on site.
- Drones will be operated by licensed pilots in accordance with Harvard University and the City of Boston regulations.
- Flights are weather dependent and are scheduled one weekday morning alternating weekly.
- No flights are scheduled this week.
