Enterprise Research Campus Update #46 (Week of June 24, 2024)

As the Enterprise Research Campus (ERC) project continues, we will provide project notifications that outline upcoming and impactful activities, including a map of the area for reference.

Residential/Hotel

  • This Saturday, June 22 starting at 7 a.m. a tower crane will be assisting to jump safety nets, and some workers will be active on building floors.
  • Concrete decking and other operations continue.
  • Hotel steel installation progresses to level 17 with work continued to periscope, the cantilevered section of the building.
  • The mid-rise residential building has topped off at their mechanical penthouse at level 9.
  • The hoists (exterior construction elevators) and loading docks are being installed.
  • Work is progressing to level 13 of the high-rise building.
  • Utility tie-in work will progress inside the fence near Western Avenue.
  • MEP work is ongoing.

Laboratory and Office Buildings

  • A small crew of laborers will be working Saturday, June 22 starting at 7 a.m.
  • Concrete operations continue with deck placements.
  • Structural steel continues to be delivered and installed on both the east and west buildings.
  • The east building steel is up to level 5 and the west building is beyond level 7, working up to the second mechanical penthouse at level 9.

Greenway

  • This section of the site is currently being used for laydown space.

Treehouse Conference Center

  • A crew will be backfilling this Saturday, June 22 starting at 7 a.m.
  • Mass timber installation continues with two trailer deliveries per week.
  • Core completion activity continues.
  • Backfilling/flow fill will take place.
  • Generators are mostly removed from site as temp power is operational.

Building Mock-Ups

  • Punchlist work and other adjustments are ongoing on all five mockups.

General

  • The site’s four tower cranes have been erected and are operational. They are designed to move or “weathervane” in the wind.
  • The projects’ work hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. and Saturdays as permitted by the City of Boston from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
  • Intermittent use of power trowels for concrete finishing may take place after 6 p.m.
  • Drones will be in use bi-weekly to monitor construction progress on site.
    • Drones will be operated by licensed pilots in accordance with Harvard University and the City of Boston regulations.
    • Flights are weather dependent and are scheduled one weekday morning alternating weekly.
    • A drone flight will take place this Wednesday at 7 a.m. and in the afternoon.
