Enterprise Research Campus Update #38 (Week of April 29, 2024)

As the Enterprise Research Campus (ERC) project continues, we will provide project notifications that outline upcoming and impactful activities, including a map of the area for reference.

Residential/Hotel

  • Work will be underway this Saturday, April 27 starting at 7 a.m.  
    • Utility tie-ins will be underway inside the site on Trotting Avenue. 
    • Crews will be preparing for concrete placements and steel erection. 
    • Tower cranes will be operational. 
  • Structural steel continues to be delivered and installed at the hotel, rising up to level seven. 
  • Concrete operations are ongoing. 
  • Utility tie-ins continue inside the site on Trotting Avenue. 
  • Intermittent use of power trowels for concrete finishing may take place after 6 a.m. 
  • Visible work is underway with work progressing to level six and seven of the high rise and midrise residential buildings.   

 

Laboratory and Office Buildings

  • Work will be underway this Saturday, April 27 starting at 7 a.m.  
    • Welding and surveying will be taking place. 
  • The two tower cranes are operating and structural steel continues to be delivered and installed on both the east and west buildings.  

Greenway

  • This section of the site is currently being used for laydown space.

Treehouse Conference Center

  • Work will take place this Saturday, April 27, starting at 7 a.m.  
    • Crews will be preparing for placements. 
    • Masons will be working on the core. 
    • A crane will be operating on site.  
  • Work is underway on the elevator cores with a concrete wall placement next week. 
  • Underground utility work is taking place inside the site.  
  • Temporary power is being installed on site. Eversource and crews will intermittently be working on site and off Western Avenue.   

Building Mock-Ups

  • Punchlist work is ongoing on all five mockups.  

General

  • The site’s four tower cranes have been erected and are operational. They are designed to move or “weathervane” in the wind.
  • Drones will be in use bi-weekly to monitor construction progress on site.
    • Drones will be operated by licensed pilots in accordance with Harvard University and the City of Boston regulations. 
    • Flights are weather dependent and are scheduled Wednesdays, Thursdays or Fridays from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. alternating weekly. 
    • A drone flight is scheduled for Thursday at 7 a.m.
