Enterprise Research Campus Update #34 (Week of April 1, 2024)

As the Enterprise Research Campus (ERC) project continues, we will provide project notifications that outline upcoming and impactful activities, including a map of the area for reference.

Residential/Hotel

  • Work will be underway this Saturday, March 30 starting at 7 a.m.
    • Crews will be preparing for concrete placements and steel erection.
    • Core equipment removal will be taking place.
    • Tower cranes will be operational.
  • Concrete operations are ongoing.
  • Intermittent use of power trowels for concrete finishing may take place after 6 a.m.
  • The hotel core is complete.
  • Steel preparation is ongoing at the hotel.
  • Visible work is underway on level four and five of the high rise and midrise residential buildings.

Laboratory and Office Buildings

  • Structural steel continues to be delivered and installed and rising to the third level on the of the west tower using the tower crane.
  • Crews are preparing to install a tower crane the week of April 8 for structural steel installation on the east building.

Greenway

  • This section of the site is currently being used for laydown space.

Treehouse Conference Center

  • Work will take place this Saturday, March 30, starting at 7 a.m.
    • Crews will be preparing for placements.
    • Masons will be working on the core.
  • Work is underway on the elevator core.
  • Drainage structures are being installed.
  • Smaller concrete placements are ongoing.
  • Temporary power is being installed on site.  Eversource may use a vacuum truck.

Building Mock-Ups

  • Punchlist work is ongoing on all five mockups.  

General

  • The site’s three tower cranes have been erected and are operational. They are designed to move or “weathervane” in the wind.
  • Drones will be in use bi-weekly to monitor construction progress on site.
    • Drones will be operated by licensed pilots in accordance with Harvard University and the City of Boston regulations.
    • Flights are weather dependent and are scheduled Wednesdays or Thursdays from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. alternating weekly.
    • A drone flight is scheduled for Friday, April 5 from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m.
