Enterprise Research Campus Update #30 (Week of March 4, 2024)

Construction Updates

As the Enterprise Research Campus (ERC) project continues, we will provide project notifications that outline upcoming and impactful activities, including a map of the area for reference.

Residential/Hotel

  • There will be work this Saturday, March 2nd starting at 7AM.
    • Crews will be preparing for concrete placements.
    • Tower cranes will be operational.
  • Concrete operations are ongoing.
  • Intermittent use of power trowels for concrete finishing may take place after 6PM.
  • Crews continue erecting the hotel core structure.
  • Visible work is taking place on the sky deck, level two and beginning on level three.
  • Temporary overhead electrical connection has been installed on site to power the field trailers and has eliminated another large generator on site.
  • The site’s two tower cranes have been erected and are operational. They are designed to move or “weathervane” in the wind.

Laboratory and Office Buildings

  • Crews will be assembling and installing the first of two tower cranes beginning on Friday, March 1st.  On Saturday, March 2nd, starting at 6AM, installation of the crane will continue. If needed, work may take place on Sunday, March 3rd.
  • Sixteen truckloads of crane sections will mostly be delivered to the site on Friday.
    • Possible after-hours work will be needed to support this operation.
  • Steel will begin to be delivered and installed starting on Monday, March 4th.
  • Concrete and rebar operations are ongoing.
  • Temporary power is being installed on site.

Greenway

  • This section of the site is currently being used for laydown space.

Treehouse Conference Center

  • There will be work this Saturday, March 2nd, starting at 7AM.
    • Concrete crews will be preparing for wall placements.
  • Work is underway on the elevator core.
  • Concrete placements and rebar operations are ongoing.
  • Temporary power is being installed on site.

Building Mock-Ups

  • Work will take place at the Residential/Hotel mockups.
  • Treehouse Conference Center mockup work continues.
  • Punchlist work is ongoing at the Laboratory mockup.

General

  • Drones will be in use bi-weekly to monitor construction progress on site.
    • Drones will be operated by licensed pilots in accordance with Harvard University and the City of Boston regulations.
    • Flights are weather dependent and are scheduled Wednesdays or Thursdays from 7AM to 9AM alternating weekly.
    • A drone flight is scheduled for Wednesday, March 6th from 7AM to 9AM.
  • After hours snow removal operations will be ongoing throughout the winter months during periods of inclement weather.
