Enterprise Research Campus Update #27 (Week of February 12, 2024)

As the Enterprise Research Campus (ERC) project continues, we will provide project notifications that outline upcoming and impactful activities, including a map of the area for reference.

Residential/Hotel

  • There will be work this Saturday, February 10th, starting at 7AM.
    • Crews will be preparing for concrete placements.
    • Tower cranes will be operational.
  • Concrete operations are ongoing.
  • Intermittent use of power trowels for concrete finishing may take place after 6PM.
  • Crews continue erecting the hotel core structure.
  • Visible work is taking place on the sky deck and level two.
  • Temporary power has been installed on site.
    • The large generators needed to support the site’s power needs have been removed.
  • The site’s two tower cranes have been erected and are operational. They are designed to move or “weathervane” in the wind.

Laboratory and Office Buildings

  • There will be work this Saturday, February 10th, starting at 7AM.
    • Crews will be removing bracing inside the foundation.
  • Concrete and rebar operations are ongoing.
    • Crews are working on wall placements with two to three placements a week.
  • Crews are preparing for the first of two tower cranes to be erected on February 24th and 25th.
    • An early start and after-hours work may be needed to support this operation.
  • Temporary power is being installed on site.

Greenway

  • This section of the site is currently being used for laydown space.

Treehouse Conference Center

  • There will be work this Saturday, February 10th, starting at 7AM.
    • Concrete crews will be working on the walls and core.
  • Concrete placements and rebar operations are ongoing.
  • Temporary power is being installed on site.

Building Mock-Ups

  • Work will take place at the Residential/Hotel mockups.
  • Treehouse Conference Center mockup is awaiting Mass Timber delivery.
  • Punchlist work is ongoing at the Laboratory mockup.
  • Intermittent deliveries may take place on Rotterdam Street.

General

  • Drones will be in use weekly to monitor construction progress on site.
    • Drones will be operated by licensed pilots in accordance with Harvard University and the City of Boston regulations.
    • Flights are weather dependent and are scheduled Wednesdays or Thursdays from 7AM to 9AM alternating weekly.
    • No drone flights are scheduled next week.
  • After hours snow removal operations will be ongoing throughout the winter months during periods of inclement weather.
